THE IMPACT OF EDUCATION AND HOW TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE OF STUDY

THE IMPACT OF EDUCATION AND HOW TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE OF STUDY
It is quite shocking that we are blinded to some of the sensitive aspects of our life probably due to our limiting thoughts or those set of beliefs we picked up or adopted while we were growing up. Those beliefs have allowed us to establish a great connection between our mind and our life reference experiences. These days, education and all that it encompasses aren’t part of what we count as things we should elicit and ponder upon before making some crucial life decisions. Education is
ignored and therefore don’t see why we should focus on what its impact on mankind. Education to my understanding is the act or process of educating or being educated and also the knowledge or skill obtained or developed by a learning process.

Today teenagers are in school because they believe it is necessary for them to be in school, not because it is important to them to go to school. What we don’t understand is that the things we strongly believe in stands as the source of how we often see ourselves as failure or success.

Why are you in school?
Why do you send your kids or children to higher institutions?
Why that choice of program?
What impact does education have on your children?
What will education give to the world in general?

So many teenagers are in school ignorantly, they are in school not because they feel they need to be in school,  not because they are obliged to be in school, not because they want to acquire more knowledge for them to pursue their life goals, and probably not because they see it as a legacy. We live in a world where students make decisions based on what their friends do or say, based on the influence of the environment they live in and it also comes down to what education means to them.

There is a difference between "going to school" and "being educated", not many people understand this but I will make it more lucid (clear to understand) for you. One can be in school for many years and find it difficult to pick something tangible to learn. If your mental and inner strengths are not benefiting from what you are being taught from your first day in school, it is useless.

There is a belief that backs up every decision to be in an institution, either positive or negative; there is always a belief behind such decision. Some are in school today because their goal is to engage in cultism, some are in school because they want to be able to brag about it, while some are in higher institutions because they believe education is the source of life, it is the foundation success must be built upon. It is time for parents and teenagers to see through the dark pots, it is high time we or our children get to know how important education is and how it impacts lives.

If for instance, a child’s choice of study is to be an HR {Human Resource Manager}, it is the responsibility of the child to understand the nature of the course and why he or she is pursuing that program. It is important for the child to also speak with his or her parents or guardians concerning his or her choice of study for more advice or words of encouragement. For a child to choose to study HRM, not only must the teen understand why he or she must possess the skills and qualities to be an HR manager, he or she must also understand what benefit and impact will such course have on his or her life in coming years. So many students focus on the juicy aspect of a course or program without eliciting the program’s strengths and weaknesses, without looking deep to know if that is really what they want to do. They shift their eyes away from the struggle, hard work and how intense it can be. They only gaze their eyes on the outcome of being a professional HR manager without having to think what must be done for them to become what they want to become.

Is it your decision to be an accountant, banker, nurse or a public health personnel or your parents or guardians are putting pressure on you to go for a certain course?

It will reflect in future if your decision is right or wrong. If you want to be a doctor, nurse, teacher, accountant or a banker in ten years. You need to see a reflection of your goals in you, the image must be with you, the passion and drive must be as important as anything you hold dearly in life, if your discipline is not inspiring or passionate enough, you are on the wrong path. Be sure your choice of study is motivating, aspiring and captivating that you just want to do more to achieve your target, that you constantly picture yourself in future to have achieved your present goals.

As parents or lecturers, know the reasons behind your students or children's decision to study a certain course or program, guide them, give them reasons why you think or believe the course is good for them or not. As teenagers, understand how your decision making process works and how you arrive at your important life decisions and also understand what drives you to make those decisions.

If you have no idea why you are studying your current choice of program, you simply will have no idea how to achieve the goals surrounding the program.
